Our series on hospitality continues to be challenging, but also encouraging in seeing how God uses it to reveal himself. This last Sunday we found out that hospitality can even open the heart of God for things that we have been praying for, but have never seen come to pass. 2 Kings chapter 4 gives us the story of the Shunammite woman who prepares meals for the prophet Elisha, and ultimately creates a small room in her and her husband‘s home for him. In an amazing turn of events, she miraculously gives birth to a son. Something her and her husband had never had because of her husband‘s old age. And even when that son becomes an adult and dies of an unknown ailment, God restores His promise by raising him from the dead through Elisha. Ever had things you’ve been praying for, but never seem to get movement from the Lord on it? Perhaps having a heart, attitude, and physical willingness to offer hospitality, begins to move the waters of the blessings of God that he has already given you so that He in turn may also bless us!
