The problem of lust. Sometimes we relinquish it to things only of a sexual sin and failing. However, fundamentally lust is the desire we have in our own hearts that is not from God. That desire can be anything. Unfortunately, it applies to the things we want that are of the world and not of a righteousness and divine nature that comes only from the work of Jesus Christ. 2nd Peter ch.1: 3-4 tell us of Christs divine power that makes available to us his divine nature within ourselves. It also states that the desires of the world are the lusts we have. The book of James chapter 1 explains how lust begins and the fruit of it. That same book in chapter 1 goes on to help us to know what we are to do to implement Christ‘s righteousness and nature to win over the strongholds and bondage that we have created from the lust of our own flesh. The answer? To receive God‘s word and implanted in our hearts with humility and prove ourselves to be doers of his word!
